Daylight saving time is handled automatically for the date you choose. A time that does not exist because clocks jump forward may be shifted by an hour.

How to Use the Time Zone Converter

  1. Choose the date and time you want to convert, or press Use the current time.
  2. Pick the place the time is in from the From list.
  3. Pick the place you want the time in from the To list.
  4. Read the converted time and date. The table underneath shows the same moment in other cities.
  5. Press Swap to switch the two places.

Why Time Zones Are Tricky

The world is split into time zones, and many places also move their clocks forward and back during the year. Two cities can be three hours apart in winter and four hours apart in summer. Some zones also differ by half an hour or forty-five minutes. This converter uses the time zone database built into your browser, so it follows the correct rule for the exact date you choose.

Good to Know

  • UTC is the standard that other time zones are measured from. It does not change for daylight saving time.
  • When a country changes its clock rules, your browser may need an update to know about it.
  • Dates can change when you convert. A morning meeting in Sydney is the evening of the day before in New York.
  • When you schedule a meeting, send the time together with the time zone to avoid mistakes.
