What Is a PDF Merger?

A PDF merger joins two or more PDF files into one. You might need it to combine an invoice with its receipt, add a cover page to a report, put scanned pages together, or send one tidy file instead of five. This free merge PDF tool keeps every page exactly as it is and lets you choose the order before you download.

How to Merge PDF Files

  1. Press Choose PDF files and select two or more PDFs. You can select several at once or add more files later.
  2. Check the list. Use the Up and Down buttons to change the order, or Remove to take a file out.
  3. Press Merge PDFs. Your combined file downloads as merged.pdf.

Why Use a Browser Based PDF Merger?

Many online mergers upload your documents to a server. Here the work happens on your own device, which is a good fit for contracts, forms, ID scans and anything private. You also skip the wait for uploading and downloading large files, and there is no watermark and no sign-up.

Tips for Better Results

  • Name your files with numbers, such as 01-cover.pdf and 02-report.pdf, so they are easy to recognise in the list.
  • Check the page count shown next to each file to make sure you chose the right document.
  • After merging, open the new file and scroll through it once to confirm the order is correct.
  • If you only need some pages from a large file, use the Split PDF tool first, then merge the pages you kept.

Limits to Know About

  • Password protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be opened by this tool. Remove the password in your PDF viewer first.
  • Each file can be up to 100 MB and you can add up to 100 files. Very large merges depend on the memory of your device.
  • Pages are copied as they are. The file is not compressed, so the merged file is about the size of all the parts together.
  • Bookmarks, form fields and links that connect pages inside one of the original files may not be kept.
  • This tool merges PDFs only. To turn pictures into a PDF, use JPG to PDF.
