What Is a Wheel Spinner?
A wheel spinner is a digital prize wheel. Each name or option gets its own slice, the wheel spins, and the slice under the pointer at the top wins. People use it to choose a giveaway winner, decide where to eat, pick a student to answer a question, assign tasks, or make a game more fun.
How to Use the Wheel
- Type or paste your names or options into the box, with one on each line. The wheel updates as you type.
- Press Spin the wheel, or click the wheel itself.
- When it stops, the winner is shown under the wheel. Past results are listed below it.
Options Explained
Ignore duplicate names
When this is ticked, a name that appears twice is counted once. Untick it if you want a name to have more than one slice and a better chance.
Remove the winner from the list after each spin
Tick this to spin several times without choosing the same name again, for example when you give out prizes one by one or build a team step by step.
Is the Wheel Fair?
Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser secure random number generator before the wheel starts to move, so every slice has the same chance. The spin is then drawn so that the wheel stops on that winner. How fast it spins or where you click does not change the result.
Limits to Know About
- You need at least two names to spin, and the wheel shows up to 100 names. Long names are shortened on the wheel but shown in full in the result.
- Names are not saved. If you close the page, the list goes back to the sample.
- For a drawing that must meet legal rules, such as a public lottery, follow the rules of your country and keep your own record.
