What Is an Aspect Ratio?
An aspect ratio is the relationship between the width and the height of a picture, screen or video. It is written as two numbers with a colon, such as 16:9. The first number is the width and the second is the height. A 1920 by 1080 screen and a 1280 by 720 screen are different sizes, but both are 16:9, so they have the same shape.
