What an XML Sitemap Does
An XML sitemap is a simple file that lists a site’s pages so search engines can discover and crawl them more efficiently — especially useful for larger sites, new pages that have few internal links yet, or sites with a complex structure. It’s a hint to search engines, not a guarantee of indexing.
Where This Tool Gets Its URLs
This generator builds the file from the exact list of URLs you paste in — it does not crawl your site automatically, since fetching an unknown number of pages from an arbitrary domain isn’t something a free browser-based tool can do safely or completely. Pasting your own list keeps the result accurate to what you actually want indexed.
After You Generate It
- Upload sitemap.xml to your site’s root folder (e.g.
https://example.com/sitemap.xml). - Submit it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools so both can find it directly.
- Keep it updated — regenerate it whenever you add or remove pages.
